found this on AlterNet. A group of thirteen women elders representing native peoples around the world have gathered to discuss how to keep traditions strong in thier communities and other important issues facing the world.
have a look: http://www.alternet.org/story/20423/ I have to say as a Native American I find this to be a very promicing organization. Women elders have long been a powerful group that unfortunatly due to 'modern' society have been pushed into the fringes of how our culture is perceved. I hope that they bring some of that strength back for the world to see and appreciate. wa:do |
