Both great links thanks Salem.
One thing though.
Is the faith of islam only meant for Arabic peoples?
If not why would Allahs word not be correct in any other language?
In fact I can never know Gods word because I cannot read the language.

It seems a bit exclusive.

Here is one of Islams answer to atheism

Quote:
Sura 2:6-7
As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.
Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur).

It seems Allah would like to keep unbelievers in the dark.

No Islam isn't only ment for Arab people.....infact out of all the Muslims today, which is about 1.7 billion, only about 18% of them are of Arab decent. Also Islam is the fastest growing religion in the word and in the U.S., I recently read an article that said in just recent years it's estimated that Islam has grow by something like 235%, where as the next fastest growing religion (Christianity) grew by like 41%. There is nothing in Islam that says it's only ment for a certain people, whereas in Judiasm they believe that they are God's choosen people.
The reason the Qur'an isn't concidered to be 100% correct when it's translated is because you can't translate something from one language to another without making mistakes or changing the meaning a little bit. This is because different languages have words that don't have an equal in other languages. Lets take the word Islam for instence, in English there is no word that means the same as Islam does in Arabic. In Arabic, Islam litterally means "the submission to the will of Allah" along with this Islam comes from the same root word for peace, salam. Therefor Islam also means peace as well as "the submission to the will of Allah". Now there is no word in English that has all these meanings, therefor Islam can't be translated from Arabic into English correctly. So this is why we don't consider a translation of the Qur'an to be the actual word of God, because its been translated. This doesn't mean you have to speak Arabic to be a Muslim. Reading a translation of the Qur'an is fine, but you just need to keep in mind that it's been translated.

Peace be with you Linwood,

Allah is so fair and Just. He created within everyone of us good and evil, and He gave us the freedom to choose between the two. There are some people who are astray but there comes a time when they are guided to the Truth and thus they are saved. However some people insist on being in the dark, they don't want to listen to the Truth and to search for the truth, so they are the ones who choose to stay in the darkness. Our Merciful Allah is so Just!

Peace

Islam is for all human kind, it is not specific for certain people. However when one converts to Islam he starts learning Arabic. All Muslims though they most of them are not Arab they studied Arabic in order to be able to recite the Quran while praying the five prayers of the day.

Here's an example. There are some American Indian names that, when translated, mean a whole sentence! I saw one in my vocabulary book.

Quote:
Sura 2:6-7
As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.
Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur).

In other words, they are such great unbelievers that no matter what you do, they will not change. So, what this means is that there are some things that will be hidden from them. For example, in Sahih Bukhari, somewhere, the Prophet (saas) was with Abu Bakr (ra'a) when the Prophet's uncle's wife came looking for him. She used to slander him, so Abu Bakr wished the Prophet would go somewhere, for he didn't want him to be abused by her. Anyways, she came by and asked Abu Bakr where the Prophet was. She could not see him! After she left, Abu Bakr said that she didn't see him, and was quite astonished. The Prophet replied that an angel was shielding him from her. So you see? Since "Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil", she could not hear him or see him. Make sense?
