Why is the only way to avoid violent conflict to make everyone conform to one standard? Who gets to decide what the standard is? What is wrong with diversity?

Even if it were possible that we could all agree on everything by our own free choice, I would not wish that.

There are certain things that I wish we could all agree on - for example, that it's wrong to torture sentient beings for any reason. But as for how many gods there are and the nature of the universe etc, or even socio-political ideologies, I do not wish for us to agree.

Not only is there nothing wrong with diversity, diversity is good. Diversity is desirable. Every major scientific discovery that we've ever made is because someone thought of a different way to look at things. Every renaissance of every culture is because it encountered something new. According to natural selection, all of the earth's wonderful species including ourselves is due to new mutations (ie - difference) that prove to be advantageous and are then fixed into the population.

Diversity is good.

I don't think the quantity of Gods or Believers is important.
All the world requires, for a quite life, is for all the believers to accept one another.
