Years ago when my Grandmother (from my mom's side) passed away, the day of the funeral began with pouring rain. The sky was dark and full of rainclouds. There were no signs that the rain would let up. Why was it important that the rain let up for her funeral? Her body was to be cremated according to Hindu rites out in an open area. I prayed for the rain to stop. My uncle also told me that he prayed to one of the Hindu Deities - I think it was Suryanarayan, the ruling Deity of the sun. The rain stopped for a while - I can't remember if it was a couple hours or what, but it was sufficient for her body to be cremated.

When God is ready for us, we are called back. This world is only temporary. Our real home is with God. Eventually, we (all souls including those of departed loved ones) will reunite with God.

Seriously guys, 7 billion odd people in the world, many with AIDS, cancer, starving to death and you think God takes the time to pause the rain for you?

How many times have you wished it would stop raining, but it hasn't?

It wasn't really as much of a whine as it appears, DA. I think I know the answer anyway and was just throwing it out for consideration. I don't think God is "bad" for not answering prayers.

I have never outright asked if the rain would stop! It is slightly different as it was part of getting me onto my path to the heavenly father again - it wasnt me being selfish and just wanting the rain to stop!

I think its awful whats going on in the world - but many of it is man - controlled! I dont know a man who can control the weather? If everyone in the world put a pound, there wouldnt be starving children, but some people are too selfish to give to those in need!

Oh thats alright! Its just when you said people who pray for not losing their children are ignored and then you said you had been ignored. I put two and two together, but it seems I made 5 this time!

I had to address this as well. Why doesn't God answer the prayers of people who need rain (water) to survive, but they do not get it? People in Africa who's villages have experienced continual drought for years on end, is a good example.
