Converts to Mormonism (gospel, mission, church, LDS, baptize)

So I know that there are a few (Aqualung being the main one) converts to the LDS Church on this site. Could you please address this comment by a fellow poster (found in the "As a Mormon do you believe in.." Thread) please:

How would you respond to this?

That it was said by someone who doesn't have a clue. Once a person is baptized into the Church, we have special classes on some of the fundamental principles of the gospel that were not presented in the missionary discussions. These classes are very small and informal and class members are free to ask any questions they may have. I know because I teach such a class.

I know that, I am just trying to open a thread to all who wonder why we have converts and what really makes them convert.

Well you asked how converts would answer to that statement of not being able to ask questions, that's how I would answer if I was a convert. It's so absurd that it's funny to me.

And why are these taught after baptism and not before?
