Anyone seen this controversial epic as the info says? The last Temptation of Christ by Martin Serceses's (or something a long those lines!). Its different. I missed the biggining but everything seemed to be the same (as far as i know) up until the crucifiction where Christ doesnt die, his angel comes and takes up away, tells him he is not the messiah (but they say he is the Son of God
) and Christ gets married - she dies - then he seems to be married again with kids! That bit confused me! Then years later, Paul is preaching the story as crucifiction/resurrection in the sqaure and Jesus comes and calls him a liar! Paul says what will save the world? You or the resurrected christ? After that the disciples come all old saying that Jerusulum is burning and the temple has gone etc etc. To which the very old christ crawls to a hill and shouts to God for fogiveness for being selfish and unfaithful and which point it goes back to the crucifix..... to which Christ says "It is accomplished" Thoughts on this? Anyone who has seen it got some thoughts? Is this all made up or is there actually a version on this? |

Sounds like lots of fun.

It's adapted from a wonderful book by Nikolas Kazantzakis.

As a mythology without a great deal of reliable primary evidence, the field is ripe for any number of variations and interpretations.

Another cool idea is a retelling of the Gospel with all the characters being gay.

It also has a better treatment of Judas as being asked and reluctant to do what he did rather than being a traitor.
For me, though, the most memorable part was Peter Gabriel's amazing soundtrack.

Or with Jesus being bit by a radioactive spider and learning that with great power comes great responsibility - something I wish he'd learned a little better in the earlier versions.

yeah I thought that - Judas then calls Jesus the traitor for copping out of the crucifiction!
