If I remember correctly, the only reason the Pope did not sentence Galileo to death was because they were childhood friends. So instead he sentenced him to a life sentence of House Arrest. But there were other scientists whom were not so lucky to escape execution. But they believed that earth was NOT the center of the universe also, they challenged the church and were executed and sentenced to Hell. I think they deserve their life back, or to go from Hell to Heaven. The church has been proven wrong time and time again. Own up to your mistakes.
