Ok, lots of questions coming up! This is mainly for my benefit, learning about all the different religions. I placed it in the debate, for those of you who do like to have a good debate from time to time - clears the system!
![]() So the questions are as follows. 1) What religion are you? 2) Do you have a prophet? If yes.... 2a) what is his name? 2b)what year was it? 3) Do you believe Jesus was the Son of God? If yes.... 3a) If you believe in the different messengers also, moses etc? Why didnt God just send Jesus as his messenger? why his son? in Your Own Opinion? 4) Do you believe Jesus was a messenger/ prophet from God? Any information, POV of the prophets that you want to throw in is welcome!!!! ![]() Why do you think God chose them, who were they before the revelation? etc etc Many Thanks ![]() |

2. We have many prophets and teachers that come from all ages, cultures, and walks of life. The first examples that always pop into my mind is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mother Teresa, just to name a couple from relative recent history. 3. No, I don't. 4. No. I should be clear that I do not believe in prophets as chosen messengers from God like would be in other religions. To me, a prophet is someone who is gifted with profound moral insight and shares that insight with others. Like I said before, we have many prophets and teachers who teach us a better way to life and be.

I was trying to avoid saying "just" a messenger in my OP, as I have been told off for doing that in the past ![]() |

The first thing to consider is that Jesus was a Jew. To Jews every human being is a child of God. Therefore, I am a son of God, my wife is a daughter of God.
Second thing to consider is that Jesus often refers to Himself as "The Son of Man" and never in the first person says he is the Son of God in a genetic sense. Third thing to consider is why would God need to have genes and pass them on? All of creation was brought into being by His word of command, he didn't need genetics to do that, He merely exercised His will. It was His Will that sent a revelation to Jesus, and God's will was what Jesus dediczated Himself to do. Regards, Scott

Christian (LDS)
Yes Which one? Since Joseph Smith (and including him), there have been 15 prophets/presidents of the LDS Church. Here is a full list LDS Prophets. Look above. ![]() Absolutley. Quote:
Perhaps because God knew that many may not believe on Christ's name, but He wanted to bring some semblance of the truth to His children, so He at least gave them prophets and messengers to try to prepare them. (Does that make any sense?) It was part of the plan. Look above. Not just a messenger or prophet, but the ONLY Begotten Son of God. Thanks for being so respectful in your questions to lots of faiths. If you have any questions for the LDS bunch, I am sure we would be happy to respond. |
