Default Burying unbaptized children

One of my professors told me that children who have died and haven't been baptized are placed in a different area than those that have at the burial site.

Is there any truth to this?

Hi,

Years ago when my sister had a stillborn child who had not been baptized, that child was indeed buried in a different part of the Catholic cemetery than others. However, I know that in at least some Protestant cemeteries this is not the case. I also don't know if the Catholic church still does this kind of thing or not.

And I can't speak for any other form of religion because I just don't know the answers. I assume that in the Jewish faith this would not happen as they don't practice baptism to my knowledge.

To my knowledge, this does not happen. If it does, it is out of ignorance of the Catholic faith. The RCC teaches that we must rely on the infinite mercy of God with the salvation of a unbaptized child... we can only pray for them and fall back on the love of God for his children.
