Why did we invent God?
Even if deity exists, all of our concepts and ideas about deity are human inventions. So, why did we invent our notions of god? What motivated us to do it?

I would say we invented GOD because we needed to be able to go to someone when we had questions that actually knew the answers.

I doubt that it did initially, but I'm sure it didn't take long for some scam artist to realize that he could claim the moral high ground and get some knotheads to buy into it. I'm sure Jim Jones wasn't the first, and I know George W. Bush won't be the last.
