How do you feel about women and religion? Do you see some religions as more constricting on women? What religion do you see that give women the most freedom (from you POV)?

Depends on what your view of freedom is!

I think that would depend on what you as a person are comfortable with. Plus how you were raised. For instance where I am from we have alot of Amish. They are very nice people, however I would not care to dress like that to me that is constrictive, no pretty colors just drab, I would be depressed all the time.........lol. But for them they are fine with it and comfortable it means nothing to them, it is natural.

*shrugs* humans are humans, regardless of race/gender/sexual orientation/age/etc. we treat them with the same, equal respect and kindness, unless of course they are unkind to us.

I imagine that it would depend on the specific woman's viewpoint as much as the religion. I've known a lot of women who feel most free serving in a congregation where, even though they would never be able to preach a sermon or hold a position of power, they control lots of 'behind the scenes' stuff and they feel blessed that they're able to do so. On the other hand, some women would feel uncomfortable in a religion where they were viewed with any less 'authority' than men.

Testimony of Equality
The Quaker testimony to equality stems from the conviction that all people are of equal spiritual worth. This was reflected in the early days of Quakerism by the equal spiritual authority of women, and by the refusal to use forms of address that recognised social distinctions. Equality is also a fundamental characteristic of Quaker organisation and worship, with the lack of clergy and any formal hierarchy.

I don't want to answer myself, i'm interested more about your definition of the word freedom in order to answer your questions and say my opinion about it.
