I like to think of HaShem as...The Force! He binds and connects all living things and if we try hard enough through meditation and prayers and whatever you choose to do we can tap into a little bit of that Divinity and get a glimpse of something greater than ourselves.

Ronald -
Catholic (with a capital C) is used to denote the faith and religion of Catholicism. When the word catholic (lower case c) is used, it denotes universalism, but even then this is an extremely rare use of the word in normal discourse of the English language, as opposed to the Latin language, where it might occur in that context more frequently. Since Lightkeeper made her statement in English and did not choose to use the word "catholic" (much less "Catholic"), I think we can take it that she meant exactly what she wrote. That is to say, I think you are intentionally trying to turn this into an opportunity to make a statement about Catholicism, when it is not germane to the question on the table. TVOR

In response to the question of this thread, I like what Master Vigil said. In my opinion, if there is a Universal Soul, I would say that ALL living things (animal or vegetable) are part of it.

I think as in your sig, That is your opinion and you may be wrong. And you are wrong! Whether it is in caps or not the word is Universal/Chatholic, so I asked of the question since it was vague, I wanted clarification, and this is fact, not opinion!

If you are speaking of a universal essence that holds all together that could be termed as G-d then possibly, if you are speaking a universal essence that everyone recognizes and identifies as the same thing, then probably not...the reason being is that every group would probably define this as "G-d" so there would be vast differences.
It would help if the question was more specifice, like, is there a universal consciensess that everyone agrees on, or is the universal concience x? These questions would casue more and better debate. |

That is exactly why my signature is what it is. If I misunderstood, I apologize. If I accused you wrongly, I apologize. Thanks, TVOR
