A question of belief
In a world that claims to be tolerant why does it have to be " my God is better then Your God" rather then "My God does for me what your god does for you"?

You've all made good points. People who choose to believe in a particular faith are naturally going to believe that is the truth. However, to belittle another faith is not on since the belief, by default, leads to the same final source. When people allow themselves to understand their part in the plan; the World will become a better place not with tolerance but simple acceptance of each other (or that which is different).

I agree with you Sunstone, I've learnt so much from non -muslims on this site, it's great - since most my friends are muslims and my non muslim friends are not interested in discussing anything about religious beliefs.

I came over to RF from another site where religious discussion haddegraded to the point that should you Not belong to or convert to this particular church then You couldn't be saved, you wouldn't get to heaven.
Now I am not a religious person I believe that if what you believe in gives yo comfort and well being then go for it and I will support your right to believe in that. the Thing that got me about this particular sect was that instead of discussion you got condemmation. any question was answered by bible quotes! Everyone who wasn't of their church was sent to hell. Questions like, what happened to those who died before christianity was established or those who never heard the " Word"? went unanswered. Any members who tried to discuss or questioned these people were treated as inferior by these " true believers" So much so that not only myself but a few others came over to RF. Now my point is if the Idea of my God is better then your God can disrupt a small community like a forum what hope does the world have?
