Carl Jung was a “spiritual thinker” who offered Western culture a way back to religion that places no shame on being human. Spiritual teacher, codependency therapist and author, Robert Burney, agrees with Jung: “We are not sinful, shameful human creatures who have to somehow earn Spirituality. We are Spiritual Beings having a human experience."
Jung thinks we can re-learn anything from our inner sub concience, not just our own percieved memories but indeed from all the memories of all whom live and ever have lived or will live. Not surprising then he is hailed the farther of Neo Gnosticsm, we believe more or less the same thing underlined. It is also a Neo Gnostic article of faith that we are all intrinsically linked to a single mass sub concience with connections lying within and without the matrix of time and space itself. AKA the spirit world, the field of dreams that is semi real, the hidden universe that encompasses all. Do we have anyone here whose religion is like mine heavy (but not exclusively) on Jungian philosophy? I am pleased our Father is the same scientist who invented the Lie Detector Test, seems fitting somehow.... |

Sure. I've enjoyed reading Carl Jung. His work was actually very important in our studies for me earning my graduate work in New York as a Certified Movement Analyst. Our focus was on his view of archetypes..........fascinating.
And since we studied Jung, we also HAD to study Buckminster Fuller. Both were contemporaries of and close to Rudolph Laban, who is the granddaddy of Laban Movement Analysis of which I am certified. Anyway, I used to have a mega-sized compilation of Jung's articles. Shame that I lent it to someone who hadn't given it back, but I do remember that I felt he hit the mark quite a bit.Pretty cool, Simon. ![]() Peace, Mystic |

The vision I have is not going to be 100% true anyway, even if you are in complete agreement. Sadly my perception is also limited by the way my mind works... I imagine you can define the spirit world in a number of ways that are not really testible scientifically anyway, so until we can, we can keep on guessing. Please let me know if you have a better picture! Thinking too much..hmm I dont really agree that it is possible to do so. |

Still one can spend TOO long in ones own head, for me Neo Gnosticsm has no set doctrines, like science it just has a current hypothesis that sounds good until a better one comes. Neo Gnosticsm does not cast the TRUTH in stone, we understand that perception is varied and although we seek for the empirical truth we do not discount any idea or observation. In short I believe Neo Gnosticism to be a religion that is always 'work in progress' Last edited by Simon Gnosis; 09-25-2006 at 03:28 AM. |
