I was reading an article in the New York Times this morning about the new form of embryonic stem cell research and honestly, I became quite angry with the opposition. This new form of research does no harm itself to the embryo, making it possible for a new life to be formed. This essentially took care of the opposition's problem with the research to begin with. Now their concerns is that scientists are essentially cloneing another human and killing the twin. These people don't even understand the basics of cells. I read the article with my fiance, who formally worked in a lab on such studies and holds a degree in Biochemistry, so I trust his viewpoints on Science.
I honestly wanted to know what other religions felt about the new form of stem cell research. Here is a link to the article in case you haven't read it: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/24/sc...=1&oref=slogin

Absolutely beautiful in my opinion. I can't see a new life in any other way.

i still don't understand what the whole contervisy is about... i see human life is when a group of cell can interacked with the world and that is when the bain is forming... but i do have to question how far can we go with this type of study before we go too far? is the current laws able to forsee the problems that it might couse? can this research be used to creat the perfect human race? this seems to me like very powerfull stuff that we are getting into...

America needs to worry little about getting into it. Your politicians and religious leaders have held back science to such a degree than the United States will never catch up to Europe, let alone Asia which is leading the world in genetic research.
America should just declare itself a research-free zone and be done with it. That said, I'm still oppossed to embryonic stem-cell research. lol Don't hit me.

I had no problem with stem cell research in the first place, but if this convinces more people then sweet.
