We are told that Adam and Eve were the first two people to exist on this earth, we are also told it happened around 6000 years ago, that does not give people long to: breed tens of millions of people to travel from the garden of Eden to every corner of the world and populate the earth, including islands hundreds of miles across the sea, turn dark skin pink, turn skin black as coal, turn skin yellow and develop narrow eyes, have hair turn from black to blond, develop races who are on average 6ft 9 inches tall and short races who are less than 5ft tall, develop hundreds of languages, and a host of other things I cannot think of now, does it say anywhere how all of this was accomplished? or is it just possible because there is a God?

You take the Bible WAY to literally if you believe that it can't explain all that. You think the Bible is the only record we have? There are probably hundreds of records we don't have and things taken out of the Bible. I find it hilaious how athiests or people who like to disprove the bible make a huge deal about these kind of things, when the people who believe in it can explain it just fine. |

According to the Bible, the languages came about because the people were all fighting so God made them start speaking different languages so they couldn't understand each other. So I guess groups of people who knew one language went someplace, and other groups went different placest.
Except that never happened.

You brought up a good question about Adam and Eve;
I know that the earth's population just since 1947 has increased by 2 billion people, but as for the changes in color or hair changes, I would say that the person has to be born again and again to attain to any higher level of life change. I am LDS, commonly called Mormon and even though my religion does not teach reincarnation or re-existence, our scriptures teach it, Mormon scripture as well as the Bible. I don't see for the life of me why one person should fail to aspire to the Kingdom of heaven because if they didn't, then God has failed as a teacher and I just can't see that happening. I also can't see that this short 100 years of trials and learning grants us the right to live in the kingdom of heaven or suffer eternally. It just doesn't make sense. In St. John 5: 19-21 it suggests that Christ's father was also a Savior and resurrected the dead and made them immortal. Joseph Smith takes that teaching a little farther by saying, "Christ had no other power other to do that which he saw his own father do. And what was that? Why, to lay down his life and take it up again as his father did before him. In the Book of Hebrews we find this statement; Hebrews 5: 8 Though he were a Son yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered, and being made perfect he became the author of eternal Salvation unto all those who believed on his name. Joseph Smith taught that there is no such thing as the spirit birth of man as a spirit exists upon a self-existant principle. Yet the LDS teach that whey and if they aspire to the celestial kingdom of heaven they will be able to have spirit children. In adding the two contradictive statements toghether I would say that if we were to have spirit children born to us we would have to be chosen to suffer, bleed, and die on some distant Calvary, yet to be created since Christ is the only one in all our scriptures that has had spirit children born to him. BOM Ether 3: 14 Behold, I am he who was prepared from the foundation of the world to redeem my people. Behold, I am Jesus Christ. I am the Father and the Son. In me shall all mankind have life and that eternally, even they who believe on my name shall become my sons and my daughters. It appears that our Savior who is the Son of God until we take upon ourselves his name by being baptized in his name. Once we take upon ourselves His name we become His children and He, at the same time, becomes our Father. gramps |
