That's my belief, not yours, you don't have to believe that it is true.

I believe most ideas, beliefs, etc. were based in truth -- at one time or another. It's just that, don't make something out of it, that it isn't. I believe that Ganesh, may have been a holy man, a prophet perhaps, but that he was never a god, and that through time things got changed and misheard, and just screwed up.

And if it's so hard to believe, you don't have to.

Perhpas they were, and perhaps they weren't, I can't speculate on every single myth and idea out there, because I do not know them all. some I do believe were made up just out of the blue to explain something, and some, may have been real at one point and time, but just not in the context we know them now.

I do not doubt that this is your belief. The problem is that your statement can mean virtually anything. Were Pixies and Minotaurs and mermaids "based in truth"? Was there an historcal Thor or Neptune or Baal or Kali?

And I said, it depends -- I believe that pixies could have been highly overeaggerated, but yes, once they could have had a basis in real people, possibly mermaids even too.

It just depends for me, it's not an all or nothing, I need to research the topic throughly before I start making assumptions for myself.
