Is Paganism Too Sexy? (rituals, moral, pagans, sexuality, moral)

Is Paganism preocuppied with sex? Is the religion too full of sex for its own good? Do Pagans need to add more respect for sexuality to their religion? Or, do they have the right balance now?

Is it lewd to conduct rituals skyclad (i.e. nude)?

Are fertility rites immoral? Is it wrong to celebrate the fertility of nature, crops, and people?

Does Paganism simply accept sex for what it is and for the role sex plays in our lives and in nature, or does it go overboard?

Is the Pagan insistence that sex is not sinful immoral?

Is the Pagan insistence that sex is not sinful healthier than the insistence of some others that sex is indeed sinful?

Does your little sister or little brother know you go on the internet to talk about wild Pagan sex? Will he or she tell mom?

(Naked means you got no clothes on. Nekkid means your up to somethin')

Like most things, it probably depends on the individual. I don't think it's inherently overboard, at least not from many of the pagans I've known through the years.

Sex isn't immoral. It just has its place, and the place isn't "everywhere and all the time."

Let me put it this way: My grandmother was taught that sex is sinful. Consequently she believed that sex was something a woman "puts up with" in order to have children. I think that would have a rather...er...chilling effect on the relationship with one's spouse, eh?

No, but my kids might be looking over my shoulder as I type this.

If so, I'm sure they are terribly amused by what Mom is up to. They usually are.

It's one thing to be nosy, and another thing to act like I should tell someone else how to define their religion. That's especially hard with pagans, since it's not like there's a text you can refer to...

I would have to say no. Sex is a natural occurrence not an obsession. But then again it depends on the pagan

Because sex is a naturally occurring act and because most pagans love and respect nature, i would have to say no. They have the right balance.

With anything there is the risk of going overboard. It is all in the perception of the individual. If there is a group of pagans and they draw strength from sexual rituals and walking around naked (or nekkid depending on intent Booko) and as long as everyone is comfortable with this then there is no problems.
