How Warlike Is Islam? (followers, church, religious leader, catholic, Vatican)

Just how warlike is Islam, especially whn compared to other religions?

It would all depend on whether what they teach matches their actions.

Islam is not warlike, Islam (just like Christianity) is a very peaceful religion.

However, some cultures that have arised from Islamic states are warlike and very tribal (just like some cultures that have arisen from Christian states). I think it is the culture and that culture's interpretation of Islam that is the problem, not the religion itself.

Do they have an equivalent to RC's where one can go for official teaching irregardless of the culture? Like the Vatican?

Good question! No, Muslims don't have an equivalent of the Roman Catholic Church, but they do have respected scholars and religious leaders whose words, while not binding, carry immense weight with their followers. At least, that's how I understand it.

i am in a quandary over this one there seems to be a dualism.people can quote you as many peaceful quotes as there are warlike or violent there are peaceful authorities and downr
