Why God didn't make the body perfect? (creation, suicide, diseases)

Not all of theists would answer so.

I'd first ask where the idea is that we were created physically perfect.

Secondly, I'd ask for evidence that we are finished being created. We know we've evolved -- who's to say we've stopped?

You would be surprised about how many disabled people consider their bodies "perfect" as they are.

I am fine with my deafness and other physical disabilities (I could do without so much pain, though). The only problems I ever run into are lack of public accomodations for the disabled and negative opinions of the disabled and disablities.

The physical infirmities I have, if anything, have just led to personal growth in other ways.

I run into people who can't conceive that someone so active as I appear some days can be completely dysfunctional in a matter of minutes.

And sometimes I find people who assume I don't show up at things because I am uninterested or lazy, as opposed to -- unable. But that, I would suppose, is their problem for having not bothered to find out all the facts.

Here's a question: if we all had perfect physical bodies and were never ill or incapacitated, how would we learn things like patience, understanding and compassion?

I know this is a common belief among Christians, but there are a lot of us theists out here who don't subscribe to the idea of the Fall. We still regard Creation as being perfect, though.

Besides, when I was an atheist I would've asked you then why God would create someone so imperfect that it was possible for them to screw up so badly.

How can you judge whether it is or isn't?
How can you know whether a person is or isn't perfect?
How can you judge whether a disease is or isn't perfect?
How can you judge whether the answer to a math problem is or is not perfect?
Is green the perfect color for grass? Why not brown?
How do you know that God did not make the body perfect?

Complete agreement. I would not be half the person I am today were it not for my body and its "imperfections."

I may walk with a cane- but it only helps me hold myself up higher.
