on a single evening in the fall of 1980, all nine members of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha`i's of Iran disappeared - some were witnessed as being abducted.
In 26 years there has been no news of any of them, but since we have no way of knowing their fate, they are not included in the hundreds of individual Baha's who died in prison for their faith or were executed by the government or pro-government mobs. Women were hanged. Men were shot. When a man was shot the government sent to the family a bill for the cost of the ammunition expended by the firing squad. Here is a video produced by The Iranian e-zine - a non-Baha`i publication with many of its correspondents still residing in Iran. They took some risk criticizing the government quite so blatantly. Its a streaming video, to download it will be time-consuming if you have a dial-up connection since it runs about four-and-a-half minutes. The music is sung by Enya, the song is "Where are You". http://www.iranian.com/Clips/2006/Ap...haiVictims.wmv Regards, Scott
