Christ also taught that once married, always married, no divorce, unless your spouse cheats on you... Or dies. Any other reason and you re-marry, you're committing adultery.

I really like this passage as well. This is Jesus speaking again....BTW, some theologians believe the reason the words of Christ were written down later is because most teachings were taught orally during his day and passed down the same way....

John 12: 44-46

"When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

The point I'm trying to make with this thread is: What is Jesus saying we need to do in his own words ? His words alone without adding what Paul might have said later or the others. I have never concentrated on the words of Christ alone and what he said we should do....I'm trying to figure that out. And in context to the surrounding text of the passages I quote. I could use some help.....

You might want to look into investing in one of those bibles that has everything in red that is quoting God.

Before I went on my mission, my Stake President had me go through the entire Book of Mormon and underline everything that Christ said. I'm sure you could do the same with a copy of the Bible. It's an interesting way to study the scriptures. That would be another option for you.

Matthew 12:31 - Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

IMO, love God, love your enemies as well as your neighbor, do not judge people different then yourself, Do those things and everything else will fall into place.

Yes, and I always understood that what blasphemy against the holy spirit means is a continual, life long disbelief in Christ.

But, if I can be forgiven for adultery, and stay married to my current husband, then why can't gay people just believe in Jesus and be forgiven as well and continue their lifestyle? I don't get that.
