Are you saying the God of Abraham and Moses did not exist?

Oh no! Their God was God. He brought the Hebrews out of slavery across a desert and made them a nation. All the time inspiring a book that would predict his arrival in such detail that there would be no question that only God could do it.

This idea is proposed by the Anthropolgist Edmund Leach, and I not to self promote I address this question in a paper I put in the articles section, so I guess my answer in full is in there...

Then you are using Jesus and God as synonyms. I disagree. Jesus was a Divine Manifestation, an Apostle of God, the Spirit of God and even the "Son" of God (in a non-sexual sense), but God? No.

Scott

Now we go way off subject and debate the divinity of Jesus. Maybe another day and different thread.
