Expanding your religion. (gospel, beliefs, follower, church, bible)

Why is it that people that do not claim to be from just one denomination tend to be, as a whole, more 'Christ like'? More humble. More tolerant of other's beliefs. Love all, not just their own. To give more of themself. Is it because they are more open to ideas different then their church? There are a couple people that come to mind, but because they ARE humble, I will not mention them. The more I expand my religion, the more love I feel. I want to learn more about Wicca from mike and fluffy and of course my wife, and from other Wiccans on this board. I want to learn more about Master Vigil's religion. I want to learn more about faith healing from Michel. I want to read the gospels that were not included in the bible. NetDoc has so much love in his posts....well, most of them!

Look at Captain X, look at the love and tolerance he has in his posts. Maize in her wisdom. Feathers' love is greater then alot of Christians on this forum. FTH and her compassion. All these listed, and I'm sure I'm missing a few, do not list a specific denomination. But these are Christ's true representation of love. God bless you all.

i think people from the christian denominations can and do show love and tolerance, but we only tend to hear the loudest members of those denominations, we never hear about the quite loving ones sitting at the back, and they are where God's love is in those denominations

I agree. This is quite a bad aspect of the internet (and the media in general). I think that if you look at the posters here (who generally are a nice bunch) you'll see that there are several people who are staunchly members of their 'denomination' (quoted because neither we nor the RCs would use that term) that are generally open and tolerant. Victor springs to mind as does Katzpur. I hope, but only others can say, that I am also one of those types of Christian, despite my unwavering belief in the truth of the Orthodox Church. I'd also note that there are non-Christians of all kinds who are just as intolerant as the worst 'Christians'.

Mike, I don't disagree with that. But as a whole, people that class themselves as just Christian or follower of God or UU tend to be more open mined. There are exceptions, of course. But IMO, as a whole, non-denominational tend to be more 'Christ like.'

, that's because they're not taking sides. When it comes to loving everyone, what side is there to take?
