The only reason why people choose to believe in God is the fear of eternal damnation. Or to cover up, or feel better about, something that they need forgiveness for. In my opinion, most, if not all, people who are religious are cowardly people who are looking for acceptance somewhere.

So the only reason why people believe in God is because of fear, acceptance, repentance, and naiveness.

I disagree with your naive view of why people believe in God. It is perhaps true that some people believe in God for the reasons you have stated, but many people believe in God for other, much more positive, reasons. What strikes me most about your view, however, is not the mere falsity of it, but the fact that you ascribe cowardice to people who believe in God. Because of that fact, I am left in doubt that you know much of anything about courage. Intellectual courage or even physical courage.

For others it just seems to make sense, even if they have no evidence. Nothing to do with fear or acceptance or repentance or being naive.
