I think true blood hit the nail on the head. Think about it. Almost anything can be considered a treasure--various things are 'treasures' to various people. It's whatever we think about most, love the most, desire the most. What is a treasure to me is not necessarily going to be a treasure to you. As the saying goes I think, 'One man's trash is another man's treasure.' Jesus was using an analogy to help us understand a spiritual concept. If our 'treasure', for instance, is making as much money as we can, then that is a treasure that has no eternal value. When we die, our wealth will not follow us into eternity. To store up treasure in heaven simply means loving and desiring most those things which do have eternal value--and I believe this can include, but does not exclusively include, investing our time in trying to save souls. Whatever our treasure may be, it is something that we put priority on and invest time in. So to say the treasure is silver, gold, etc., is thinking purely on a physical level. We need to think beyond that. If we think that our treasure in heaven will merely be gems and mansions and so forth, then we are missing Jesus' whole point.

I am so pleased the the Word of the Lord will not return to him void, it seems I have labored in vain.
Nowhere in the ten Commandments of Treasure in Heaven were there mention of Gold, Silver or diamonds, merely serving HaShem and our fellow man. Good Works.
