I always found Heaven and Hell to be to most useless of athiest/pagan discussions.
Athiest/pagan groups can't seem to agree on much and spend a lot more time condeming believers in God than being content in their own belief system. wierd do:wa

I think I hit a nerve eh? anyway, you believe in Heaven and Hell if that is what it takes to make you a better person. Athiest/pagan don't all belong to the same 'religon' as so a variety of belief is expected. do:wa? I looked all over and couldn't find a definition of this word? did you mean do'hi (peaceful) do'hv? (why?) do'yi (out of doors) do:yu (truely/certenly) wa:do simply means thank you in cherokee.... perhaps you ment the opposite of that concept? wa:do |

okay, my perception of heaven and hell is kinda different. when you do good, you improve your karma, good things come back to you, you are in a sort of *heaven*. when one finds the truth, and becomes liberated from samsara, thats the official heaven where you get to become part of Brahman, the devine.
hell is the opposite, when you do evil stuff, you make more negative karma, thus bad things you do, makes you suffer. you become more unhappier. the difference is that these are states of mind. i believe that everyone accumilates these through life after life after life, going on a perpetual roller coaster ride until you find the truth and become free.... (*heaven*)

but of course, there are the myths, legends and stories of how tormented (rakshasis) demons battle with the (devas) angels. good against evil. this conflict is of course representing our stuggle as a communty against vice, and as an individual to discern between the right and wrong choices in our daily lives.

too much HelpMe. too much.
hell and heaven i believe are states of mind. you get reborn higher, you are happier, its kinda heavenish. you sin, you are born lower and you suffer. you are suffering and in hell. when you attain enlightenment and salvation, you are freed from this and float to the top and become one with God. the ultimate happiness. there is probably an opposite for the latter. hmm... a physical place is impossible unless it was in another dimention or something. word.
