I don't know of any holy text that I would think was 100% true, and I don't know of any that I would think didn't have some wisdom in it. I suppose my attitude is that you have to cherry pick the wisdom like panning gold from the silt it comes in.

Yea..and hope that you aren't doing something that is totally unneeded.
= Many texts have been passed down from word of mouth before being finally written down. Things were changed in those passings. Then, the act of translating one language from the other has added and taken away meanings. You cannot trust every word of any text. I find it hard to put total faith in it, and the act of 'cherry picking' makes no sense to me. Suppose you are picking the wrong cherries.
