No, religious leaders just like to spread that lie around to get more converts. It's just advertising. Like "Buy this Soap and cut your cleaning times in half!!!" It's just a ploy.

Your search for completeness is really just your search for the good. -- Sound familiar? It should if you have read the "Symposium" but I do not remember the exact quote. So by that, for religion to "complete" you, well I guess it could but it has to be good for you in other words there can not be one religion that is "good" for everyone. As another question, how are we supposed to know completeness/perfection when most of us have never experienced it, so it makes sense then that we are all born with knowledge of perfection.
