Is Blind Faith A Virtue? (church, God, religions, Zen)

I don't believe so. Virtues are good, beneficial qualities. I don't see how believing in something blindly is beneficial to anyone.

I think not. I believe that you should consider your faith at every opportunity - otherwise, how can you be sure that it is the "right" one for you?

ya, you should question your faith and see if it benefits you. then go for it. some religions dont let people question, and then people follow blindly, and they end up in despair.

The question reminds me of that famous Zen saying, "If you see Buddha on the road, kill him!" Quite the opposite of encouraging blind faith.

God wants people to question things, but once they have their answer He would like to see them act without second-guessing.

whoever said faith is blind was without eyes. faith is an eye opener. there is nothing wrong with asking God to reveal his will for us or others. our church encourages sight, insight, foresight, and hindsight. braille is a pain reliever.

trish, how can faith be an eye opener when you have to ignore and suspend belief in other things in order to have that faith?
