I have gone back over this whole thread , and no where have I seen any reference to " Holy Blood , Holy Grail ". I may have missed it , mind you , but if not then no one has done much research into the " Codes " . Brown based the whole concept on the earlier book .
The Grail actually predates Christianity . A later story has it being the cup Christ used at the Last Supper . And the list of unlikely events just go on from there . I would have to read a book as large as the Codes to list them all . Even the symbolism is off in many parts of the Code . If the Merovingians were descendants of Christ , you would think they would have been able to hold the crown for at less 300 years , wouldn't you ?

If you choose not to accomodate my request, this is your choice and only reflects on you as a person. As i said it is a personal pet peeve, respect it or don't, but if you would like to discuss my handle we must do it in PM as it is not the title of this thread and has no place here. Thank you. |

Are you kidding? Some people on this thread have not even read the book in question, let alone the books that inspired it Speaking of, and back on topic, no one has mentioned the grail at all. Who thinks it is a human holding human blood and who thinks it's a cup? |

The Grail has many symbolic meanings . And it is each of them . What it was originally was is hard to say . Some say a skull used in Celtic rituals , some claim it refers to Celtic kings ? But it did originate as something Celtic .

the grail relates to the celtic holy regailia, of wich there are four parts. Depending on what you read it can be either: a stone, spear, sword, and cauldron or: spear, sword, cup, and cauldron. In either case the grail relates to the cup or cauldron. I think the spear may also relate to the Christian Spear of Destiny, which I believe is supposed to be the spear that stabbed Jesus on the cross; the celtic spear is also sometimes called the spear of destiny. The four regalia also relate to the elements, I believe, but I don't have the attention span to look it up now and see which relates to which.
