Default Would you be offended if I prayed for your guidance?

Hello everyone.

I've been meaning to ask this question for quite some time. Would you get offended and angry if I as a Muslim while having a conversation with you were to say 'May Allah guide you to the truth (Islam)'

If you are a non-Muslim then that just means that to you Islam is not true or that it doesn't hold as much truth as you want it. So would you be OK if I was to say to you 'May Allah guide you?'

I wouldn´t be "offended" but I wouldn´t like you to pray for me in that way. (the one where you include the "To islam" "guide him to islam" )

If you want to pray for me don´t include the name of your religion. Say truth instead of Islam and let God choose if they are synonims, at least for when you are praying for me.

Of course I cant nor will force you to pray different than that which you like, but you asked, so I am telling you.

BTW and because you seem interested.

I was also curious some time ago, and even made a poll :

We are from that other religion. But we are praying for you.

I would be neither offended nor angry. If Allah exists, then I would most certainly want him to guide me to him. And if he does not, then your prayer couldn't have any effect. There is only possible gain (whatever probability I might assign it), and no cost.

I would be absolutely fine with it. I wouldn't be even 1% angry or offended.

If one thinks that Hell awaits those outside of their religion, I would find it as a way of thinking that the person cares about my well-being in the Hereafter, and even if not, that the person wants me to have a closer relationship to God. I'm fine with both.

I would not be offended but I would shake my head after you said that and think to myself how special you must feel about yourself and your religion that you believe you alone are right and every non-Muslim is wrong.

I would also think to myself why an entity that promises eternal hellfire for the Kuffar deserves worship.

Hope you do not get offended and angry if I as a non-Muslim express my views about your religion.

Allah ...God.... guides us, and everyone, all the time though the Holy Spirit.
It is not for us to decide the outcome.
Guidance is not optional, it is certain and continuous.
What is not certain is that we are listening, or take notice or believe.

I would have no objection for a Muslim to pray for me in any way. As a Christian I pray for everyone.

I am guided... though not to the path you might choose.

There is one God and many paths ....it seems Your path differs to mine.

I'm not sure how I would react. I guess I would wonder if you are being intentionally rude because saying that to someone is like saying 'your beliefs are wrong and I feel sorry for you'. But if I knew you were being genuine and nice then I don't think it would offend me.

Would you be offended if I said to you 'May Vishnu guide you to His rightful path'?
If that offends you, think about why, and you may apply the same principle to how others will react.

If you don't find that offensive, then that's great!

I've never been offended by sincere well wishes, but it does depend on the person.

Not angry, not offended. I might be suspicious. I like LegionOnomaMoi's answer
