My spirit was with God and made by God it is my communication to God. God influence comes to my spirit when a choice is to be made. My spirit knows what is right, thus giving me a concience. I then have a choice to choose what is right and wrong.

To know what is right and wrong comes from a mixture of instincts , reason , and sense... Where does the soul fit in? Besides we can change behavior with medicine

Can you see electricity? A soul is non visible except for brief moments, just like lightning or a spark from an improperly plugged appliance.
Or light where you see that it helps you see, but you can really see it.

What reason do i have to believe that if there is a soul it is made of the same thing ultimatly as every other atom in exisence that builds the molecules that create you, me that table over there, etc.?

Um, because it would be impossible for it to be made of anything else.

Have you ever seen a cross section of a calf muscle (Gastrocnemius)?

The aspects that takes is up to the individual to discover for themselves.

HUH? You told me what the cross section of a calf muscle does... What does the soul do? Why should I care where it goes when I die? Is it electrical? If so should stop using my laptop now as I am killing souls?

First I believe the soul is the combination of the spirit and the body, and when the body dies, the spirit moves on, going back to God, awaiting the time of resurrection. I believe that in that spirit world, we continue learning and gaining the knowledge needed to progress to greater levels. I don't believe that we stop, but, as in this life, we continue to progress or regress -- as we choose. Agency is such a huge factor, and we learn from our experiences here. We will be resurrected and again become a "living" soul (spirit and body combined). I believe that we have endless purpose and that life continues. I can't describe it, but through reasoning and the limited experiences I have had in my life, I know that each one of us can find truth. That truth is found, not through mind altering chemicals, but through listening, pondering, and studying.
I believe that when you make choices that are wrong, the consequences of those actions follow. Good follows right action and bad follows wrong action. Often, we are affected by our environment; by medications, drugs, music; how we were raised, things we choose to believe; disease and the natural deterioration of our bodies; habits we obtain through poor choices, etc. As a result of these physical stresses, the spirit is naturally affected because it is no longer dominant. We choose again. We are blessed, or we suffer, as a result of natural laws --- The Law of the Harvest"--you reap what you sow.
The spirit is that part of you that "knows" right from wrong. Even though the mind and the physical body can be affected by many things, the spirit remains that one part of us, created by God, that is constant. The spirit part of us can be ignored; it can become deadened by our choices to abuse ourselves or others. It can be lessened when we choose to view anything that degrades a person's dignity and value. We can choose not to believe; we can choose to listen to the many theories, idealologies,and answers that make us more and more confused. There are so many "voices" and it seems that nothing really brings peace, but the spirit does brings peace. Through the spirit, we become close to God, and receive answers. Through the spirit, our minds are quickened, our senses are enhanced, or understanding and knowledge increases. Through the spirit, we become enlightened to things of God, and we are not left to doubt, fear, or sorrow.
