Why did Muhammad choose the Alpha God of his region and his pagan beliefs to create a new religion? Why didn't he think of a new name altogether like L.Ron Hubbard did?

I don't believe you are being serious in your question, but I'm going to answer seriously anyway.
Because Muhammad did not believe he was 'inventing' a God, nor did he believe he was 'creating' a new religion, but following the decrees of his God. Also, the term "Allah" has cognates to the other (surviving) Semitic religion's and languages' terms for God: Elohim (Eloah) and Alaha/Elaha (Aramaic). There are 'names of God' in Islam; the 99 names: Ar-Rahman ar-Rahim, al-Haliq, and so on; they still refer to the same God. Allah is ar-Rahman, ar-Rahim, al-Malik, al-Haliq, al-Aziz, and so on. They are more like the description of his virtues and attributes than names. Plus, people generally don't make up names for their gods out of the blue, even if the names are different from ones used, unless you're making a religion up. Names of Gods usually have some earthly etymological meaning behind them. I can't say the same about "Xenu".

Odion has given a good explanation, but there is a little more to it.

Was Allah the Alpha God of the many gods of the Pagan religion in Muhammad's region and maybe beyond? |

Yeah I thought so too. The question doesn't seem to be honest, to be honest.

Oh eselam any question about your beliefs are taken as an attack on your beliefs by most of those here who ascribe to your beliefs.

Allah was the same name of the God which Abraham and his sons worshiped. The Arabs are the descendant of Abrahams first son Ishmael. Ishmael was a Prophet who called people to worship Allah the one God. In time his descendants turned to polytheism and started worshiping Idols and associated partners to Allah. They believed in a supreme God who had rule over everything which was in accordance to what Ishamel called people to, and they knew that he was Allah and did call him as such. However, throughout time they invented idols as intermediaries between them and Allah. Does that answer the question? And don't get angry OK.
