I have certainly done that often enough in my life and have seen the negative consequences of my foolishness, but seeking God for wisdom has always brought positive results, relief from a bad situation, answers to a problem, and peace.

And you know what happened? Nothing… I mean literally nothing except for a conclusion that my efforts at atheist science secular reading, bible reading and prayer had me still faced with the same set of problems and some hopeful new and interesting solutions. Sometimes I think about fasting and just going out to the desert with my bible, my pony and me. (Since I’m a liberal republican I won’t need a rifle.) Something tells me that I'd come back to Los Angeles with the answer already at hand. I can see the fruits of the words and teachings of Jesus in the least of humans who actually apply themselves to following Jesus teachings. I hear God in the prophecies of little children at soup kitchens and the ruminations of seniors citizens in inner city donut shops. Talking to our Creator would be the greatest gift a man or woman could have in this life... and a great responsiblity. The more I read Christ teachings the more I feel both that gift and that responsiblity. It's the only form of instant communication with our common creator I believe in. And I'll continue to study other things of science because I feel led to do so. After all, from my view it's all His Story. |

it would be foolish to say that experience, common sense, advice from others and the courage to stand with ones integrity/conviction are not a part of the equation.

It would be foolish and I agree all these things are a part of the equation. |
