This is an excellent point. I agree that "God" has nothing to do with science--that does not undermine "God" in any way, its simply the truth about the way things are.

You hit the nail right on the head when you stated that science deals with nature, and "God" is supernatural. Another way to phrase this would be that science deals with what can be percieved, whereas "God" deals with what cannot be percieved.

Yes, but when God interacts with nature it can be observable to a certian point. For example, Christians and Jews have the Holy Scriptures. It is said that God spoke to the prophets, and this interaction is recorded and reviewable by science and philosophy. That is, we can reject theological reflection where it fails certain standards.

Why make sin in the first place? If we all went strictly by the book(the bible) then there wouldn't be sin.

Personally I believe that God does not contain any human characteristics, as my ideal of God leans towards the pantheistic perspective. God only becomes anthropomorphic when we personalize God in our subjective human minds. I was once Christian, but my beliefs in evolution didn't affect my faith in God, my beliefs in God evolved with it. God did not create sin, but sin is something temporal and it stems from ignorance and selfishness. In objective reality, creation is amoral. Morals only exist in the subjective mind, and it comes out from within, that is the subjective mind.

I would say that the anthropomorphic God who wants everyone to worhship him --or else -- does not exist. I would say that God exists all around you, that is everywhere. God is everything in existence without exclusion.

Darwin was debating against the idea that physiological changes can happen abruptly.
he was not casting doubt on his own version of evolution.
