Poll is main reason for starting this thread, but feel free to elaborate on your response to the following inquiry:
If someone approached you and said they greatly admired your teaching, so much that they would like you to be their personal Guru, how might you respond? |

As I am now? I don't really know. I'd probably tell them that, while I can teach them my beliefs, I'd tell them that I can't be their personal Guru, since my beliefs are dynamic and constantly shifting to fit with new knowledge and insights. I believe that a true Guru must be consistent in their teachings.

I would likely laugh, though I would not be flattered. I would likely ask them, "Why do you think you need another to show you what is already within you?" My second question would be, "What's your hurry?"

I'd tell them why I'm not a guru. I'd also explain how me floating in the air while meditating was just an illusion.

I suppose that I am the only one that would try to make a quick buck off of this person? Hell, my philosophy is selfish, I have an excuse

I would politely decline because there is no way I could take to the title "guru".

most of the regular posters here would do great teaching the general masses.
if someone chose you to be their teacher, teach. Your not a pro so do it free. |

I have been asked...a stern "no" didn't nearly cover it.
