I can advise not to rape children, rob or promote terrorism. I've no god, but even I have better values than some of these bozos.

I have a theory that as mankind leaves the umbrella of religion there will be times of uncertainty, awkward adjustment periods for many, but over time the golden rule would kick back in naturally and without prompting from any religions.

We have laws and guidance. Plenty of it - seeing that the vast majority of people belong to religions which provide both laws and guidance. However, seeing that mankind is lost and getting worse, apparently the laws and guidance provided by these religions isn't helping, and, in fact, could be part of the problem.

There are always times of uncertainty and awkward adjustment, religion or no religion, but I don't think the religious instinct in humans is ever going away....It is an instinct that can be channeled for better or worse.
