Why not Rasta? (Torah, mystic, blood, churches, pray)

Has anyone bother in looking into Rastafarian movement? I mean, for me, is almost on top of the religions that actually make sense.

I briefly read about it in the newspapers once. I'm Hindu so I was impressed that they have some things in common with Hindus. For eg. their oneness with nature, their peacefulness and most of them are actually vegetarian. One of the Hindu Deities - Shiva, has his hair like dreadlocks, like the Rastafarians.

Hehe, that’s cool about Shiva and the dreadlocks, I didn’t notice it before! And yes, Rastafarians have many similarities with many religions, and I specially like the part were they don’t consider themselves a religion, nor a belief system. Their main teaching is that of equality of all humans, like “Namaste”. Their “holly books” include the Bible, the Koran and the Torah; but they don’t close themselves to other religions texts.
They don’t have churches, because churches leads to the corruption of religion, so what they do are small conglomerations for prayer to God in nature settings, their name for God is Jah, but they consider God to be the same for all, it doesn’t matter all the names they give him.
Dreadlocks for Rastafarians have a meaning as well, it is the equality of all humans, without judging physical appearance. They also take a poverty vote to stand against the evil Imperialism; they call it “Babylon System”, because it is a materialistic society which enforces the rich men to get richer, and the poor men to get poorer.
As Bob Marley put it: “Babylon system is the vampire sucking the blood of all the sufferers”.
They also meditate plenty, most with Ganja ; which they consider to be God´s gift for the oppressed people of the world. They call Ganja “The healing of the nations”, because it makes you peaceful and gives you a chance to notice your ego; it is also much medicinal.

I especially like the part about being open to other religious texts and other names for God. Again, this is just like Hinduism. The Rig Veda says that the Truth is one but is called by different names.

I'm very fond of Rasta. Their symbol "I'n'I" is a very beautiful expression of the mystical notion of "Oneness," "Unity" or "Love."

The bible says the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, but it's hard to convince me of the benifits of marijuana (is that what Ganja is?), I know people who started smoking it and it didn't make them any better, it could be argued "how much was there changed effected by marijuana and how much were they going to anyway" but in my mind the two events are contemporeneous, (I wasn't trying to use a big word I just couldn't think of how to say it.......)

I think they don´t know about Hinduism for the same reason they take a poverty vote, because they don´t have access to the information. But I bet if they would have access, many would be fond of Hinduism as well

Yes, "I and I" means "Me and You", as well as we are all the same and One together.
