Can there be white rastas in a movement that can easily be classified as a black movement?
Are whites hi-jacking black culture with their growth of dreadlocks? |

The problem is, as this is not a Rasta forum...I can't show you everything that I have learned in the Rasta movement that can help you overstand this concept.
There are no WHITE Rastas. There are none. Period. There Rastas whose ancestors have been away from Africa longer than others. Therefore they have different skin complexions. A *white person* is someone who has a imperialistic, dominerring "European" perspective. You can not be Rasta and be "white". Every Rasta has a black African soul, no matter their complexion. Modern Rastafari are not slaves because we have broken the shackles of oppression placed upon us. Slavery is very much an alive and pervasive evil in this world. One Love Ras Marques Benjamin

All I want to know is do Rastifarians believe the Bible? "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life", Whosoever=anyone. But if they believe that God would make a person predestined for hell based on what color their skin was then it should be clearly seen as a religion of hate.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Eyesus Kristos who revealed Himself to InI in the personality and character of His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie I, King of Kings of Ethiopia, Elect of God, Conquering Lion of Judah, Defender of the Faith.
Twelve Tribes of Israel - Principles "We accept the Holy Bible, from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22, as the inspired Word of The Most High, The Father of the Universe." "Until the philosophy which holds one race Superior and another inferior Is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned Everywhere is war, me say war That until there is no longer first class And second class citizens of any nation Until the colour of a man's skin Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes Me say war That until the basic human rights are equally Guaranteed to all, without regard to race Dis a war That until that day The dream of lasting peace, world citizenship Rule of international morality Will remain in but a fleeting illusion To be pursued, but never attained Now everywhere is war, war And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes That hold our brothers in Angola, in Mozambique, South Africa sub-human bondage Have been toppled, utterly destroyed Well, everywhere is war, me say war War in the east, war in the west War up north, war down south War, war, rumours of war And until that day, the African continent Will not know peace, we Africans will fight We find it necessary and we know we shall win As we are confident in the victory Of good over evil, good over evil, good over evil Good over evil, good over evil, good over evil" - Bob Marley, War Adapted from the 1963 speech of HIM Haile Selassie to the United Nations http://www.jah-rastafari.com/selassi...asp?word_id=un Beseme Ab, Wowold, Womanfes Kiddua, Ahadu Amlak, Amen Ras Markos Yohannis Binyam

Blessed greetings!
just wan mention dat not all rastas belive dat Haile Selassie is Yeshuah the Christ! There was a man Prophet Gad among the rastas in the 80's who claimed dat Selassie Is not Jesus, but a King siting on the throne of David. For me Selassie represents Jesus and actually every rasta (and not only rasta) represents Jesus (righteous way of living) . Blessed Love to One and all!! PEACE!! |
