JahGiven,

The Vow of the Nazarite is a vow that many Rastas take, as well as some others. It is when you promise Jah to never take a razor to your head (cut your hair), no shaving, no drinking wine or eating/drinking anything from the grape vine, and no going near dead bodies.

Jah Bless.

why is it that eating grapes and raisins is not allowed for nazarites. i understand no alcohol and no eating flesh as they are bad for you and destroy life, but grapes and raisins are nutritious.

John313
The way I understand Num 6:3 is that anything that comes from the grapevine, not only fermented beverages such as wine are forbidden, but even the seed and skin of the grape is forbidden.
Rasta Bless

I'm not really sure. but I-mon's best guess would be that it is just a sacrifice made for Jah Almighty.

Jah Bless.
