4.6 planets for me; the air travel I've been doing lately is probably a big contributor.

I did a test, though: I switched my location from Toronto to San Francisco and I lost 1 entire planet of footprint. It seems there's a limit to how small a Canadian's footprint can be if he wants to have heat through the winter.

Oh, I was wondering what that weather thing was. I chose chicago, because it's warm in the summer and cold in the winter, but in chicago it's a lot more humid. Maybe part of mine was for air conditioning (which basically nobody here owns). Also, air travel is part of mine, too. Flying is basically the only way to see your family when you're away at college without at car.

Likely yes.

I assume that each location has a value for heating degree-days and cooling degree-days assigned to it, which it uses in its heating and cooling energy usage calculations.

Around here, we have 30.2 cooling degree-days and 3600 heating degree-days (all Celsius). For comparison, Edmonton (much further north and in a different part of the country) has 0.9 cooling and 5200 heating degree-days, which is starting to approach double the heating energy usage of Toronto, which itself is probably about double the heating energy usage of cities in the mid-level United States.

However, my country wasn't showing up on the map so I chose the closest one which was Venezuela.
