I have done something stupid AGAIN!
I quit my job in a moment of weakness. I was hired to manage a business that the owner was losing his grip on his employees because he did not respect them. They were all ready to quit until he said he would hire a manager and turn operations over to him. I was hired and became the leader of a great group of people. Most of these people were very highly skilled auto collision technicians and painters. I enjoyed working with them very much. I had good relations with the insurance adjusters and parts vendors. I like what I do. I enjoy helping customers. My problem was I caught the owners wrath constantly. He sat in the office and critiqued every move I made. These last few weeks it seemed to be getting worse or I had just had enough. Monday morning he started off with a very negative remark as a greeting. That was only the beginning. We had a lot of work dropped off that morning and I was very busy getting all the work assigned and the paperwork in order. The abuse continued until finally all the jobs were assigned and files in order. By this time my nerves were so bad I was shaking. I laid my keys on the desk and told him I had enough and was leaving. Short, to the point and out the door. I didn't even go into the shop to speak to my fellow workers. I had plenty of time to reflect on my decision during my 60 mile trip back home. I let a lot of people down. I am depressed and feeling worthless. I don't feel worthy to have a good job right now. I pray that God will forgive me for my pride and arrogance. I ask for your prayers that I may have a spiritual healing. |

I wish you the best!
Honestly, I would not blame you for your reaction. I mean, continuing could have been damaging to your mental and physical health!

Love-
i don't think i would have / could have put up with that, either. sometimes you have to move on for your own sake, and perhaps ultimately it will help others, too. no one should have to feel so down or beat down in their job, man. may God bless you and give you His peace.

Love it sounded like your boss used you and probably got some enjoyment out of bullying you. Forget about that job and move on. Sure that genius will have a tough time getting another volunteer for abuse and stands to lose his money and his business. I am guessing he got the short end of the stick on the deal he himself brokered.

Sounds like you did the right thing to me. There are times when we have to do what is best for us. I pray that you find a better job with a boss that appreciates you.

Love, you stood up for yourself, and, in that way, did not let the others down. Hopefully he will get the message, but probably not. Maybe those others will finally stand up for themselves also, and you may have been their model. Best of luck in your job seach, and know you did what was right for you. We all get put in that position once in a while, and decide you either have to stay, fight it our or support the abuse or leave and take your dignity with you. I hope your fellow workers understand in time.

You did the right thing....
You had been picking up all the flack that he used to lay on the other staff. He will continue like that till he has lost his business. Hope you find a better position soon. You will know where to find some good staff if you need them. Next time find a new Job before you walk... ![]()

Love, you have to forgive yourself. No one is called upon to take such abuse. I think those people who you believe you let down will understand that, I know I would.
I hope you are feeling better about this, and I hope you will find a new position that you like just as much. I will pray for you.

You will definitely be in my prayers!!
Have you ever thought about starting your own business, hiring your old fellow coworkers, and leaving your old boss with scrap? Or would that be a very mean thing to do? ![]()
