A few minutes ago, I was about to go on a walk outside. I had just stepped out of the house, and I heard squealing tires and a horrible crash, and I just got this cold dread in my chest. Part of my chest literally felt cold. Not long after, I heard an ambulance siren, and then I started feeling sick (from the adrenaline, I assume).
I know I probably sound silly, especially to those who live in a big city and are used to stuff like this, but please pray for whoever was in that wreck. I don't know why this has scared me so badly, but it has. |

I know exactly what you mean, it has happened to me before.
The people involved are in my thoughts and prayers.

Will do. I've been in a crash and i know how scary it is, especially seeing the other car coming at you.

Just to clarify, I didn't even see the wreck... I just heard it. Looking back on it, I think I heard a second pair of squealing tires shortly after the first, but I can't be sure.
Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. Man... if I'm this scared just from hearing a wreck, I definately never want to be in one. |

I just talked to my dad and found out that the guy wasn't hurt at all, though it totaled his car. Thank goodness!

My dear Jensa, I am so glad to hear that nobody was hurt in this crash. I am concerned for you though. You seem to be a very sensitive person who can relate instantly to the possible outcome of an incident.
I am certain that you have been shaken by this incident. Not to worry luv, because even though you might not be able to help the immediate situation, your love and compassion shines through. You will immediately pray or send good thoughts to those involved with the accident. You shouldn't let this fear of the accident keep you from going about your daily life. If nothing else, it makes me pay much more attention to my driving. You see, I have not driven for seven years. Now I have a car and at first I was terrified to get behind the wheel. I kept thinking of those people who drive and talk on cell phones. I still see them constantly, running stop signs. I know that if I said something to them they would reply, " I'm not stupid, I know how to talk and drive at the same time." The reality is that when one is engaged in conversation, or distracted in some way, they are more likely to have an accident. For this reason, I pay a great deal of attention when I get behind the wheel. It is funny because three people who I work with have told me in the last few weeks, " Boy Martha, you are really focused, when you drive." I asked what they were talking about. The told me in different ways that they were trying to play with me when we were next to each other getting close to work. They said that I seemed to be so entirely absorbed by my driving that I wouldn't even acknowledge them. I took that as a compliment. I know I have great power in my hands when I turn the key in the ignition. I will not allow myself to be distracted or let my mind wander when I am driving. I just hope the rest of the drivers have the same consideration for me. Reality tells me otherwise, so I pay very close attention to everything within my view and obey the speed limits, they are there for a reason. This incident will fade in time, but the sound of it will keep you alert when driving and walking. You are lovely and caring. Blessings to you. Martha
