I would appreciate it if you could spare some positive thoughts for my kitty, Robin. She got herself into a rather bad fight yesterday, which she appears to have lost (I'd hate to see the other cat if she won
). Silly thing didn't come and show me when it happened, she just came inside and put herself to bed. It wasn't until I saw her later and went to pat her and give her a kiss, and came away with blood on my hand, that I realised what had happened. She has deep scratches all over her head (two only just missed her eyes), several tooth puncture marks (which worry me, because they healed over entirely too quickly, and are good candidates to turn into abscesses), and her left ear is a mess. I cleaned her up as best I could, and hoped she would be looking a bit better today (she spent the night curled up with me on my bed, I managed to get to sleep somewhere around 2am), but her ear is still raw and hasn't dried out at all. I'd take her to the vet for a shot of antibiotics or something, but with it being Easter, it'd cost me an arm and a leg and I can't afford it. I think her ear would be better if she wasn't such a smoochy girl...she keeps rubbing her head against everything (usually something hard, like the bed end), and making her ear bleed more (and she lets out a terrible yowl each time she does it, you'd think she'd learn).Anyway, I'd appreciate some positive thoughts for her to heal quickly. If anyone has any advice on something I could do physically to help her, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Neosporin on the ear until you can get to a vet.
I hate when my cat fights like that.

Why would people laugh?
The cat is in my thoughts, I hope she gets better.

I might make a trip out today to see if there's a chemist open, to see if they can find something that will numb her ear as well as provide protection. Everything is closed with it being Easter Sunday, but they usually leave one chemist in town open for emergencies.

I forget where you are Bastet but any type of antibiotic cream or antibiotic petroleum jelly will work.
It won`t sting her nor harm her if she licks it. I use it on my cat all the time. By the sounds of it she`ll be just fine no matter what happens as it seems she has a good mom.

Sorry about kitty, Bastet.
Antibiotic ointment sounds like a good idea if your cat will leave it on. She might have to wear one of those silly-looking conical collars. |

What Linwood said.
I shall also ask Cernunnos to give the cat quick healing, and Dannu, to offer her relief from pain. How much does one of those head/neck guard things? If you could get one, you could stop her from harming hor head injuries further. My dog is crazy for fighting, but only with other female dogs (ever since she was neutered; though I wish she hadn't been). She hasn't gotten terribly injured so far, but she's bled. It's odd seeing them start fighting though. The way they understand body language... They seem to know exactly what the other dog is planning. I'm so sorry this has happened... ![]() Good luck, however, and I hope she get's better soon! ![]()
