Yes, but only in the ninth month of pregnancy, never in the first eight. The bill doesn't differentiate between a baby born alive or stillborn and miscarriage of an unviable fetus, or even an embryo.

Babies are capable of surviving outside of the womb at about 26 weeks along, which is in the second trimester, (about 6 months). There is a recognizable body well before then, not to mention on or after that date. A coroner would need to examine this body for foul play.

I don't blame you for being 'sick with rage', but being 'sick with rage' depletes your energy, doesn't get you anywhere; perhaps another approach is to campain against the proposal. It's normal to have an emotional 'Jerk' response, but that won't achieve anything.

I do feel for you - don't misunderstand me; I just hope this gives you a different perspective

It does, but honestly there's not much I can do from Georgia. I can't exactly call the members of the house that support this up and tell them to shove it, since they don't have to worry about me re-electing them.

If anyone does have any suggestions on what I can do, I'd be thrilled to hear them. I want to do something, but I don't know what I can do.

Support the ACLU, for one thing. Sometimes I think they're the only bastion between us and the insanity of politicians. Even when they take positions that I would prefer they didn't.

One of the things you can do is exactly what you have done - disemninate the information. I am a resident of Virginia and I learned of this bill and this legislator through you. I did respond to my state representatives (the text of which I posted).

I may be a minority voter in this state but because of you I will have more weight as an activist. Keep up the good work.

Only with immediate hospitalization and intense medical treatment. I don't know the stats on how many abandoned babies are three months premature but it's gotta be pretty small.

Anyway, the bill doesn't say after 26 weeks - it says right away.
