Is it actually "democracy" if the voting public is uninformed or misinformed?

In short, if countries were people, France, Germany, Switzerland etc. would be worldly, cautious and responsible adults, whereas the US, Canada and Australia would be rash, idealistic teenagers. :P |

What other administrative position can you get where your basic comprehension of the issues related to the job aren't tested? :P |

All right - I gotta say. This assumption that our presidents are now inherently stupid or less intelligent than us is very condescending and rather stupid. Even our stupidest presidents are smarter than most of the people - although Bush may have changed that idea for many Americans.
Presidents do past many tests - none of which is or should be a written exam. Majority are ivy school or college graduates. Majority of our presidential candidates and presidents are experienced in foreign affairs and real life situations outside of knowledge itself. The idea that "informed" or "uninformed" people should be defined and separated to allow for different voting weights is barbaric. If we based voting on intelligence or informed-ness, we would set a dangerous precedence when our current legal system already works better than every other that's been tested on this scale. I don't even believe these questions are being asked with sincerity.
