Constitutional ammendments banning same-sex marriages have passed in 11 states. These bans also affect heterosexual couples choosing to live together without getting married.
Do you approve of such bans?

No. I voted against the ban in my state. However, it passed, due to strong support from "born again" Christian voters (determined through exit-polls).

Absolutely not. These measures are discriminatory and unconstitutional. Anyone with any sense and reason should be against them. Even if they didn't directly effect me, I would still be against them.

a ban on gay-marriage is a restriction on the rights of gay's, so i'm completely against the ban.

*wonders if DJ actually read the question*
I don't recall anyone ever saying homosexuality was an ethnicity.... it is a sexuality, just like heterosexuality, and deserves to be treated the same.

I'm against the ban, for obvious reasons. I'm against it for personal reasons as well as the principle of the matter. Nobody should ever have the right to vote on how to restrict the rights of others.

Quote:
Civil Rights:the nonpolitical rights of a citizen; especially : the rights of personal liberty guaranteed to U.S. citizens by the 13th and 14th amendments to the Constitution and by acts of Congress Nowhere in there does it say civil rights relate in any way to ethnicity...what you've said basically means that no-one not of minority ethnic groups has any form of civil rights as far as you're concerned. Please, before you're going to make claims about what constitutes this or that, maybe you should find out what the terms mean. Saves on wasteful posts that just make it look like you have no idea what you're talking about.
