Representative government is like dirty sex: it's used up, consumes time, produces bad results, pushes partners farther away from each other, and bores the bejesus out of everyone until the climax. Do you believe direct democracy [sometimes called pure democracy] could work at a national level? How would it be set up? Would there still be some representatives with limited powers?

I don't think so. It would just be too time consuming to have everybody vote on everything. Ballots would have to be sent out and adequate time given to vote on every single issue, and that's a lot of money.
