Ten years from now, I think liberals and terrorists will be shocked to see that the Middle East is free.

Cowards and Pessimists have no place in government. I have a lot of trust and faith in the American military because I know that our military may be the only institution/organization where courage, optimism and a love for freedom are combined in one singular effort.

Of course the article only included quotes and polls from the liberal point-of-view, but there are many who agree with the President's plan and respect his courage. There was a positive article yesterday about how bombings in Iraq are at a seventh month low. Things are improving and we must stay the course until the democratic Iraqi government is ready to protect itself. To leave now would undermine everything we've been working so hard to accomplish.

What is a 'victory' ? how will anyone ever achieve a semblanse of a victory ?
From what I can see, all that has been achieved to date is ridding the country of one of the most horrific of tyrants (and his entourage), while now all the potential future tyrants are lining up, ready to step in as soon as you Americans and we British leave Iraq.

All we have succeeded in doing is killing a lot of innocent civillians, and helped train Iraquis to be policemen and soldiers.

At the first opportunity their own people kill them................

Is that being "on the path towards "anything less than complete victory" in Iraq. ?

Our mission in Iraq is to win the war - our troops will return home when that mission is complete

The war was against Saddam and his cronies; now it is against guerillas.....no one is ever going to win.

I don't think that was meant as an insult; I think it was merely observation of what has happened. Perhaps you would prefer if non-americans were stopped from giving opinions ? - I could understand that; but if that is what you want, then there would have to be an Americans ony forum..............

No, it's ok that they give their opinions... but Sweden, lol... can you think of a more politically insignificant nation? I mean, if someone is going to blast America, couldn't they at least come from a country that has a leg to stand on? Comments like his come off as little more than bitter Superpower-Envy. I just thought that was funny. He's wrong and off base, but funny nonetheless.

What The United States is doing in Iraq is honorable and courageous. These folk are putting their lives on the line for the liberty and security of others. There is no more selfless nation in the world than the United States and I just find it hysterical when people from countries with no political significance and no record of doing much of anything for anyone but themselves can accuse America of imperialism, selfishness or greed. We're anything but.
